Hey, I’m Lyndsy.
This blog is my little corner of the interwebs where I share my failures and successes as I navigate the complicated question of what it means to live in a sustainable way.
Things I like include my dog; spectacular landscapes that make you feel inconsequential; locally sourced food; exploring new places; other people’s dogs; camping; animals in general, because they’re better than people 98% of the time; the smell of earth after it rains, especially when it has been dry, hot and sunny for days; anything sweet; alliteration; friends you can fart around; the sound of a choir of mating tree frogs on a warm summer night; good beer, especially the malty kind; tea, and coffee, but mostly tea; sun-showers; the serene silence after fresh fallen snow; and pondering random things to a level that most people don’t, i.e. How amazing would it be to have been able to save even five items from the Library of Alexandria before it was burned down? Maybe stuff did get saved and it’s hiding in the Vatican’s basement. What do they do with all the stuff in their secret vault anyway? Do you think they keep copies of all the various chapters that the patriarchy eradicated from the New Testament? Fuck the patriarchy. I digress.
Things I dislike include willful ignorance; people who say things like ‘I don’t read.’; Lifesaver mints, the white ones; over-sharers; corporate greed; my lack of coordination; the insufficient concern surrounding climate change.
Never of those are exhaustive lists.
I started this blog in 2015 to track my weekly CSA shares and I still love doing that, but after two years of only blogging about produce I started to think that this blog should be about more than vegetables. Henceforth I will not be limiting myself to discussing produce.
